Annie Fleisch is a filmmaker who specializes in narrative work that often highlights women’s voices. Her latest independent film Home Coming (14 mins) won the Best Film and Best Writing award in the Emerging Filmmaker category at the 2024 Count Basie Center Breakthrough Filmmaker Festival. Home Coming was also awarded the 2023 James Richard Janowsky Award from the School of Visual Arts Alumni Society. Outside the world of narrative filmmaking, Annie has been working with entrepreneurs to create story-driven commercials and cinematic social media campaigns for their small business. In 2024, Annie pitched and created a short film for Red Bull and Wings for Life that featured a WFL ambassador and highlighted the WFL World Run.
When Annie is not writing or directing, you can find her assistant directing, producing, or helping manage all types of productions. Annie thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys helping other filmmakers by blending creativity with logistical planning. She's a member of Women in Media and prioritizes inclusive and nurturing environments both in front and behind the camera.
Annie grew up in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and received a BFA in Film Production with a concentration in directing at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
